Health Awareness Lecture on Ayurveda Care in Toronto, ON, Canada

On October 11, 2015, BAPS Charities hosted a Health Awareness Lecture in Toronto, ON, Canada providing participants with an overview of Ayurvedic benefits and practical approaches for integrating them into today’s busy and stressful lifestyles. In conjunction with the lecture, numerous Ayurvedic products were also presented. Dr. Charan Thakkar presented the lecture.

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian approach to comprehensive healing that considers nutrition, exercise, hygiene, social interaction, and other lifestyle elements. In recent years, nearly 71% of Canadians have used natural health products like vitamins and minerals, herbal products, and homeopathic medicines. Most adults also reported using some form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies as part of the overall health regiment. Studies recently done by the University of Alberta, on Pediatric Specialty Outpatients, show most agreed or strongly agreed that they feel comfortable discussing CAM in their clinic.
