Every year BAPS Charities organizes
its National Walkathon in over 21 centers throughout North
America.
This autumn, BAPS Charities will host its
seventh national walkathon, Walk For Family Values, in
several centers all over North America including the
San Francisco Bay Area.
Through the walkathon, we hope to raise
the level of awareness amongst walkers, well-wishers
and observers alike regarding the indispensable role
that the family plays in the shaping of a child's values.
This year, the theme of the walkathon is " Raising the
Leaders of Tomorrow "
In Northern California, The walk will be
held along the outer circle of Lake Elizabeth in Central
Park, Fremont, CA which is an approximate distance of 2.1
miles. Participants will make 3 circles of the lake (6.3
miles) and complete a distance of 10K. How
you can help?
A) Sign up
You can participate in this 10K walk on your own or
with your entire family and help in raising pledges for
this important cause. To participate, please download
the registration kit , print it, fill it
and bring with you to the on-site registration counter
on the day of the event.
B) Set a Goal
Aim high and set a goal for yourself. Suggested goal
for each walker is $100.
C) Raise Pledges
From now until the Family Walk, ask your friends, co-workers,
relatives, neighbours to sponsor you in the Walk by making
a contribution to BAPS Charities.
D) Walk and Celebrate
On Walk day, enjoy a wonderful time with family, friends,
neighbours and other walkers as you march forward together
- united in your quest to Raise the Leaders of Tomorrow.
Then celebrate the important role you played in a major
event that raises thousands of dollars to help children
in communities like yours nationwide.
