BAPS Charities MEDICAL CAMP

The Clifton center of BAPS Charities held its fourth Annual Medical Camp on November 21, 2004. The medical camp was organized to bring about awareness and detection of diabetes, hypertension and obesity apart from a general check-up.

The free medical services provided Physical, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Glaucoma and Blood pressure checkup. The highlights of the medical camp were detailed blood analysis including cholesterol and sugar, EKG, natural medicine, and bone density measurements.

People with poor results were given guidance by volunteer doctors to visit their family physicians for further testing and treatment. In addition, doctors were available to offer free information and guidance at information booths about Diabetes, Heart Care, Nutrition, Eye Care and Cancer Prevention. The camp also had specialist to advice participants on Children's Health, and how to deal with stress, anxiety & depression. There were also multi-media displays with video presentations on healthy living.

A team of seventeen physicians and healthcare practitioners including physicians from surrounding localities volunteered their time, equipment, and clinical expertise to make this health fair a success. At the end of the camp, they were honored by BAPS Charities representatives recognizing their service to the community.
