STUDENT CAMPS IN GUJARAT

13 Camps with Over 6,700 Participants

Between May 6 and June 7, 2004, over 6,700 selected youths from throughout Gujarat participated in 13 regional Student Camps held at Bochasan (3), Amdavad (2), Tithal (2), Vidyanagar (2), Gondal, Gadhada, Sankari and Navsari.

Each camp was of two-and-a-half days duration and was centered on the theme of improving morality and higher living.

Inspiring speeches were delivered along with audio-visual presentations, interactive games, quizzes and discussions. Group activities also helped the bonding between students.

Daily activities included basic yoga training by experienced practitioners. And at the end of each day, a short questionnaire tested what the students had learnt throughout the day.

Before departing on the final day, all students pledged to observe greater morality in their lives.

In this way, the students made constructive use of their summer vacation time and were motivated to lead more disciplined and spiritual lives.
