The Asian American
Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) board of directors and
members reassured their unanimous support to BAPS Charities
during their three day annual convention at Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida. AAHOA had declared BAPS Charities as "Charity
of the Year" earlier this year. Mr. Nash Patel, Chairman
of AAHOA, introduced the BAPS Charities volunteers to the AAHOA
members and extended support to the BAPS Pramukh Swami Hospital
project in Surat, India.
AAHOA managing committee members recently visited the hospital in Surat, which was dedicated to people this year by BAPS Charities on January 30, 2005. The treasurer of AAHOA, Mr. Dilipkumar (Danny) Patel expressed in his speech that this was by far the best healthcare facility he has seen in India. It is a 150-bed, 6-storey ultramodern hospital consisting of Operating Theatres, Comprehensive Consultation Services, Specialized Services and 24-Hour emergency services.
The President of BAPS Charities Mr. Nilkanth
Patel in his speech mentioned that even though the first
phase of the BAPS Pramukh Swami Hospital is complete, BAPS Charities still needs a lot of community support
to extend its reach. Getting such support from AAHOA members
is really exceptional. Following the speech there was a
walk-through multimedia presentation based on BAPS Pramukh
Swami Hospital, Surat and the recent community projects
undertaken by BAPS Charities.
AAHOA trade show participants, along with their allied
and founding members organized a special silent auction
during this convention. The proceeds went to BAPS Charities
in support to the ongoing projects.
At the BAPS Charities information booth set up
at the convention, AAHOA members took keen interest in learning
about the other initiatives and health care facilities of
BAPS Charities. In addition to this they also acquainted themselves
about the community services of BAPS Charities in the fields
of education, environment and disaster relief.
