BAPS Charities HEALTH FAIR

The BAPS Charities - Atlanta center held its sixth annual Health Fair on Sunday, April 17, 2005. Doctors and medical personnel from various medical fields volunteered and participated during this health fair. The fair, announced well in advance began at 9:00 am as Dr. Harshad Patel, the director of BAPS Medical Services, welcomed the doctors and sponsors. Dr. Savitha Shama, the clinic coordinator, then informed all present about the medical activities undertaken by BAPS Charities.

As the patients walked in, they were guided accordingly to the various checkup booths set up for medical examinations. Specialists such as cardiologist, chiropractor, dentist, dermatologist, diabetologist, ENT, gastroenterologist, neurologist, nutritionist, podiatrist, psychiatrist, pulmonologist, surgeon, and urologist, were available on site to examine and advise these patients. Along with medical examinations patients also had the benefit of learning more about their health via information brochures distributed on site. Some patients had taken the initiative to come two weeks prior to the day of the health fair to give their blood for detailed analysis. Today they had the opportunity to sit with specialist and go over the results of their blood analysis.

In the end Dr. Naresh Parikh thanked all the doctors and the medical personnel for devoting their precious time for such a good cause. They had not only given their time on a Sunday but also their own equipment for the medical examinations.
