BAPS Charities HEALTH FAIR

BAPS Charities held its annual health fair in partnership with the Edison Township Health Department, JFK Medical Center, Jewish Renaissance Foundation of New Jersey, and Blindness Prevention program of New Jersey on September 11, 2005. The fair started at 9:00 am with BAPS Charities volunteers greeting and registering attendees. A computer-based registration system was in place to offer continuity in care for those who had attended previous health fairs.

Doctors and medical professional from various fields volunteered their expertise. Among services provided included: Full Physical Checkup, Complete Blood Screening, Ophthalmology & Optometry, Gynecology Screening, Cardiology & EKG Screening, Urology Screening, Dental Screening, Bone Density Screening, Radiology Service referrals, Gastrointestinal Disease Referrals, Chiropractor Services, Podiatry, Emergency Care/CPR tips, and Nutrition Guidance.

Special stations were set up for prevention and education information sharing. An exhibition displaying the impact of addiction on health was also available to inform attendees. Finally, nutritional, diabetes, drug, and bone marrow counselors were available to answer questions and schedule additional services.
