Mayor Pelzman and BAPS Care International director with members of the Parent-Teachers' Association and a student from Pennsylvania Avenue School

02.15.2005
Edison, NJ, USA

BAPS Care International volunteers with Mayor Pelzman and students of Lynn Crest and Pennsylvania Avenue elementary schools On February 15, 2005, school children from two elementary schools in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey presented representatives of BAPS Charities with donations to be used towards its tsunami relief efforts. The mayor of the township, Hon. Frank Pelzman, was present and spoke of the hard work of the students as well the work that BAPS Charities undertakes. Many members of the community, including the Township Council, were present.

BAPS Care International volunteers briefing the community on current activities in the tsunami affected areas Although the disaster had occurred during their winter vacations, students from Lynn Crest School 22 and Pennsylvania Avenue School 27 came back with an earnest desire to do something for the victims. Through donating their own money and through various fund raisers, the students at Lynn Crest raised $4,238 and those at Pennsylvania collected $2,270.

We at BAPS Charities are deeply touched by such a noble act of care and concern from these students. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors of the tsunami relief efforts.
