HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS

In the wake of
the hurricane devastation to hit the Gulf Coast region of
the United States, BAPS Charities has launched
immediate relief efforts in parts of the stricken zone.
BAPS Care centers in the south have been mobilized in various
states and cities to help the victims of hurricane Katrina.
The following are the immediate activities that have been
started by BAPS Charities.
- Serving hot food to evacuees and other affected people.
- Providing Shelter in Jackson, MS and surrounding areas
- Providing emergency supplies and bare essentials to the
hurricane victims
- Transporting water, groceries and other essential items
from Houston, TX to affected areas
Apart from this BAPS Charities’s volunteers
are on site in Biloxi, Jackson, Gulfport areas providing
immediate relief to the victims of hurricane Katrina. Also,
all BAPS Charities centers throughout the world
are going to hold a special prayer ceremony to pray for
the victims of this disaster.
Furthermore, BAPS Charities has planned to hold
a nationwide Walkathon in the coming weeks. Part of the
proceeds from this annual Walkathon will go towards the
Katrina Relief Fund.
