BAPS Charities has expanded its medical activities
to include a new location. On Sunday, October 23, 2005,
a health fair was held in Jersey City, NJ. Among services
provided included: full physical examination, complete blood
chemistry analysis, ophthalmologic examination including
glaucoma screening, EKG, dental examination, Chiropractor
and physical therapy guidance. 173 blood samples were drawn
for complete blood chemistry as well as metabolic profile.
A team of twenty eight physicians, dentists, and allied
healthcare practitioners from surrounding localities volunteered
their time, equipment, and clinical expertise to make this
health fair a success. At the end of the camp, they were
honored by BAPS Charities representatives recognizing
their service to the community.
BAPS Charities health fairs are free and open
to the public. All donations collected during the day were
earmarked to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
