BAPS Charities
held a free health fair, blood drive, and medico-spiritual
conference on Saturday, September 3rd from 9:00am to 3:00pm
in Chino Hills, California. Healthcare professionals volunteered
their services in various specialties. Free consultation,
screening, laboratory, and diagnostic services were provided
for all who needed medical assistance. The doctors were
aided by new intelligent medical software called MEDITAP,
which provided a paperless procedure. Many physicians offered
medical care from various sub-specialties, including internal
medicine, cardiology, pulmonary, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics,
physical therapy, and dentistry.
Community members
were offered health education seminars which focused on
nutrition, exercise, and healthy living. Experienced physicians
conducted these educational seminars in which patients were
advised on how to prevent and manage stress, high blood
pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and various other health-related
topics.
A blood drive was
also held in wake of the Hurricane Katrina in conjunction
with the San Bernardino Riverside Blood Bank. A record number
of new donors donated in the blood drive.
The highlight of
the event was a medico-spiritual conference held by many
prominent doctors. Several presentations promoting higher
medical ethics and the importance of raising the standard
of service were given. This conference encouraged health
professionals to foster ethical values while practicing
medicine. The speakers stressed the importance of being
well trained in their professions and also being dignified
human beings.
