BAPS Charities
held yet another successful Health Awareness Camp on Saturday,
April 16 at Milpitas. Many people attended the camp, which
has now been running for over 7 years. This year also saw
the introduction of other services such as yoga classes
along with legal and governmental consultation services.
Over 25 medical
and dental professionals provided an array of services,
including Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Test, Cardiology,
Diabetes, general health checkup, eye check up and CPR training
session.
To address the scarcity
of donors in the Bay Area, BAPS Charities also
teams up bi-annually with Stanford Medical Center to hold
Blood and Bone marrow drives during their health awareness
camps in the local area. This camp saw many new people donate
blood along with regular donors. There were many who even
registered for the Bone Marrow.
The Health Awareness
Camp in Milpitas is a bi-annual event for which the organizers
encourage people to register online. This according to BAPS Charities helps to execute the event efficiently
as there would be no long queues of people waiting and the
time of doctors would also be used wisely.
Short waiting times
are only one way to encourage people to attend the event,
the organizers also arranged for informative video sessions,
pamphlets and literature on health and general wellness
and finally a free and healthy hot cooked meal.
The next health
awareness camp at Milpitas center of BAPS Charities
is scheduled for 3rd December 2005.
