BAPS Charities, Houston held its 6th Annual Health Fair on Saturday, April 1, 2006, from 9 am to 4 pm with support from BAPS Medical Services. The fair was attended by a record breaking 2789 participants. The fair’s theme was The Three Medical E's - Examination, Education and Exhibition.

There were 19 different examinations and tests available to participants. Physical examinations (adult and child), eye screenings, dental screenings, hearing tests, ENT examinations, and dermatology screenings were among the nine complimentary examinations offered. Detailed blood analysis, EKG, bone density, Pap smear, mammogram, and prostate screening were among the eight reduced priced tests offered. These medical examinations were performed by 149 doctors and 289 pharmacists, nurses and medical technologists who generously volunteered their time and equipment. Specialists such as cardiologists, dentists, dermatologists, pharmacists, gastroenterologists and pulmonologists provided individual consultations.

BAPS Care Health Fairs help to bridge the healthcare gap for those without adequate health insurance. Seminars, exhibitions, and medical consultations provided access to valuable information and guidance. Advanced training seminars were conducted for physicians and dentists. Topics covered were Cardiovascular Disease and Congestive Heart Failure.

Twenty five booths were hosted by local hospitals, government health organizations, and healthcare providers. Information on the latest medical drugs, disease prevention, and non-conventional medical methods such as acupuncture, were also made available to participants.
