Washington DC, USA

To serve those in need and to promote a peaceful, dignified and healthy way of life, BAPS Charities, Washington DC, held its annual Health Fair on Sunday, May 14, 2006.

Free services included physical exams, dental exams, vision checks, hearing tests, glaucoma tests, bone density exams, EKG, and detailed blood analyzes. Various specialists executed the services and were available for free, personal consultations. The Prince Georges County Sheriff's office provided complimentary finger printing for child safety.

Over 600 people took part in the health fair. Approximately 100 medical professionals and 45 doctors volunteered their time, equipment and expertise. The fair received great enthusiasm from the community. BAPS Charities believes events like these are opportunities to raise medical awareness, identify those at risk for serious illness, and fill the healthcare gap found in many of our communities nationwide.
