BAPS Charities
held its annual health fair in Lowell, MA on October 14,
2007. Over 22 medical professional, including physicians
and technicians, volunteered their services and provide
free care to participants. All the 140 patients received
four basic services and then were triaged to specialty care
services. First, medical students and resident volunteers
triaged and assessed patients' vital signs such as blood
pressure, checked blood glucose levels and provided counseling
related to medications. Then phlebotomy and nursing volunteers
drew blood for an overall lab profile and finally, physician
volunteers provided primary care services.
Following this,
patients then sought out the following specialty care services
based upon their needs: allergy, cardiology, dental, gastroenterology,
gynecology, ophthalmology, pain management, pediatrics,
podiatry, psychiatry, physical and occupational therapies,
and hearing test.
Furthering it commitment
to a healthy way of life, BAPS Charities is proud to offer
these service to communities nationwide.
