BAPS Charities Supports
Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario

As a part of its continuing support to the community and in tune with its motto "The Spirit of Service", BAPS Charities made a special check presentation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, on Sunday August 16, 2009 in Toronto. The donation is to support the foundation’s research and awareness initiatives into heart disease and stroke.

The check presentation ceremony took place in the presence of Heart & Stroke Foundation executives, community leaders and invited guests.

Representing the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario were:

  1. Kishan Kandukur, Senior Specialist
  2. Drupati Maharaj, Senior Manager, Diversity
  3. Vivien Glencross, Manager, Community Engagement

The ceremony was followed by remarks by Kishan Kandukur, Senior Specialist, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario who thanked BAPS Charities and its volunteers for their sincere support.

Dr. Kirsty Duncan, MP for Etobicoke North sent a congratulatory message for the event saying: “I wish to express my heartiest congratulations to the wonderful BAPS Charities community in recognition of their tremendous fund-raising efforts in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Our community and all of Canada will benefit from your glowing efforts”

At the conclusion of the event, youth volunteers encouraged all to participate in the up-coming BAPS Charities Walk on Sunday September 13, 2009 benefiting the Sick Kids Foundation.
