BAPS Charities’ Event Benefits Pink Heals Tour
Raises Awareness & Supports the Fight against Breast Cancer

September 30, 2009 Chicago, IL

After covering over 10,000 miles in the past year to raise awareness and to gather support in the fight against breast cancer, the Pink Heals Tour, a decorated pink fire truck service initiative, arrived in Bartlett, IL.  Three pink fire trucks, led by David Graybill, founder of the Pink Heals Movement, were welcomed at the city border by leading members of the Bartlett Fire Department, as well as representatives of BAPS Charities: Harish Patel, Anil Barot and Nayan Mehta who invited Mr. Graybill and his team for a hospitality dinner.

"The hospitality dinner is a medium for BAPS Charities to thank the Pink Heals team for their invaluable service and contribute to a noble cause," said Dr. Rajesh Shah, Coordinator for the Medical Service’s wing of BAPS Charities and the leading keynote speaker of the event.

All volunteers and members of BAPS Charities present at the event wore a pink ribbon to support women fighting breast cancer nationwide.

"Mr. Graybill’s efforts have had an enormous impact on the community and on millions of people across the country," said Ms. Rinku Patel, Vice President of Pharmacy Strategy. "Many have joined this cause through the hard work of selfless volunteers who have inspired hundreds of firefighters, policemen and community leaders to support the cause," added Patel before leading members of BAPS Charities contributed a sizeable donation to the Pink Heals Tour and Bartlett Fire Department to support their fight against breast cancer.

Mr. Art Pierscionek of the Bartlett Fire Department accepted a grant from BAPS Charities on behalf of the Pink Heals Tour.

"The Pink Heals brigade will certainly touch thousands during its tour; however, BAPS Charities has touched thousands of lives across the nation through its philanthropy. Its goodness will only carry forward; just like it's credo:  In the joy of others lies our own," said Pierscionek.

Dr. Subash Patel, thanked prominent physicians, nurses and other Indian medical professionals for their continuous effort in aiding BAPS Charities and its numerous projects.
