Supporting President Obama’s Service Initiative
“United We Serve”
This summer, President Obama is calling on all Americans – young and old, from every background, all across this country – to participate in "United We Serve", a nationwide service initiative that will help meet growing social needs resulting from the economic downturn. “Economic recovery is as much about what you're doing in your communities as what we're doing in Washington – and it’s going to take all of us, working together,” said President Obama in a video message.
Supporting this initiative on Sunday, August 2, 2009, over 50 BAPS Charities centers organized a health awareness lecture on Dental Care benefiting over 20,000 participants.
This summer, BAPS Charities had organized over 125 community service events such as walkathons, health fairs, blood donation drives supporting the president’s call to service.
