The BAPS Charities annual Teddy Bear Clinic at Chicago, IL is a cherished annual event for the children. Over 200 children participated in the Teddy Bear Clinic which is a positive learning opportunity for children to experience first-hand what might happen if they visit their doctor or the hospital emergency department. The Teddy Bear Clinic shows children that the hospital and the doctor's office are caring places where they can receive comfort when they are sick. The Teddy Bear Clinic can help soften the fear and anxiety young children may feel when they visit their doctor.
The BAPS Charities Teddy Bear Clinic provided children with safety information with the use of tangible, visual aids. Children were given a teddy bear and taught to perform first aid techniques. During the clinic children were also taught various health hygiene habits. |
