| BAPS Charities Extends Help to Tornado victims in St. Louis

On Saturday, April 23, 2011, a devastating category E4 tornado hit the St. Louis County in Missouri. St. Louis Lambert International airport suffered major damage and was closed for business for the next few days. Thousands of homes and businesses were damaged, as some even razed flat to the ground. It was in this time of need that the volunteers of BAPS Charities provided help to the victims of these powerful and deadly tornado.
BAPS Charities volunteers from St. Louis gathered items like canned foods, cleaning items, paper rolls, paper plates, shampoo, and many other hygienic products to help the city of Bridgeton and surrounding communities. The items were donated to Bridgeton Community Center.
In recognition and appreciation of the efforts of BAPS Charities, Mary Lane, Senior Coordinator, Bridgeton Community Center said, “I would like to acknowledge BAPS Charities for their remarkable efforts here in Bridgeton, Missouri. They have given so much time and energy to the communities in need in the aftermath of the tornadoes of April 23, 2011. I cannot thank this organization enough for its support and generosity.”
Most recently, BAPS Charities raised funds for the Japan Earthquake and Disaster. In 2010, BAPS Charities raised and donated $63,000 to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in support of the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. BAPS Charities has engaged in natural disaster relief work in the US, parts of Africa, Europe, and South Asia.
