Kenya's main hospital, The Kenyata National Hospital overflowed with bomb casualties. Chaos and shock were prevalent. Realising the magnitude of the disaster, over 50 BAPS volunteers in Nairobi rushed to offer their voluntary services.

At Kenyata National Hospital, BAPS volunteers assisted medical staff in the following manner:

•  taking casualties to the appropriate wards

•  sorting and distributing medical supplies donated by organisations and individuals

•  distributing food, water, blankets and other essentials to the casualties

•  providing comfort and support to the injured victims and their families.

Seeing the dedication and disciplined manner of the BAPS volunteers, the hospital's management and medical staff were delighted and praised their contribution.

BLOOD DONATION

At 2:00 pm, the hospital declared an emergency for blood supply. BAPS volunteers at the hospital informed the BAPS centre in Nairobi. Over 200 BAPS members rushed to the hospital and donated their blood on the occasion.
