within the space of one month. On 13 January, the first
earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale struck
the country followed by a second earthquake on 13 February
measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale. |

MEDICAL AID
Even though BAPS was
already heavily involved with large-scale relief operations
in Gujarat (India) which was hit by a massive earthquake
on 26 January, It contacted Citi Hope organisation in New
York to see how best it could help the people of El Salvador.
As per information from the Government and international
organisations working in El Salvador, Citi Hope sent a list
of immediate medicines required. BAPS obtained medicines
valued at $3.127 million and sent them to El Salvador through
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (recommendation from Citi
Hope). NCM delivered the supplies to San Salvador and were
further distribution through its medical network to the
most affected areas.
