In 2003, BAPS Charities
embarked on one of its most challenging ventures –
an educational film on India. Two years and a truly international
effort later, MYSTIC INDIA is nearing completion.
MYSTIC INDIA is the world’s
first large format epic on India. Chronicling the incredible
journey of a child through the heart and soul of India,
it rediscovers a land enriched with an amazing wealth of
wisdom, culture and spirituality.
This period film set in 18th century
India takes you vividly across the icy peaks of the Himalayas
to the cool blue of Lake Mansarovar, through the wild jungles
of the Sunderbans into the dense rainforests of Assam, from
the barren deserts of Kutch onto the silent shores of Kerala.
But more than a traditional large
format film, the story of MYSTIC INDIA unfolds allowing
viewers to explore and learn from the traditions, festivals,
art, architecture, music, dance, and the people that inhabit
this fascinating country – the world’s largest
democracy. Even the silent, meditative moods transmit the
simple messages of love, service and harmony that abound
in India, unraveling her greatest gift to the world –
unity in diversity.
In this unique venture, BAPS Charities brings India to the giant screen and presents
MYSTIC INDIA to promote cultural awareness and social harmony.
All proceeds from MYSTIC INDIA will
be used to support the various ongoing humanitarian services
of BAPS Charities.
