In November 1992, the Akshardham Centre for Applied
Research in Social Harmony (AARSH), was inaugurated in
Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Its aim is to produce not just scholars
but active volunteer communicators who will carry out
further research on practical aspects to help our society
to overcome the problems faced today.
Principal Activities and Objectives
- Post-graduate students can study upto
M. Phil. and Ph.D. under the expert guidance and tutelage
of eminent scholars
- Scientific studies on education, medicare,
tribal and rural welfare, ecology, disaster management
and curbing of social ills will be conducted to uplift
the masses in society. Conventions on better living, as
well as educational seminars, are held on a national level
- A message of social harmony and inter-cultural
harmony is inculcated in individuals as well as families
with the help of modern audio-visual aids
- Some of the most pressing issues concerning
our nation are addressed and practical solutions to these
problems are offered

It is possible for scholars and students
to conduct practical research through AARSH. Researchers
are able to carry out their research projects anywhere in
the country and affiliate their papers with AARSH. Scholars
are invited to give their papers and students are encouraged
through study circles, seminars and symposia.

AARSH is built to stage conferences and
seminars to help solve some of the problems faced in our
society today.
2 national and international conferences
were held at AARSH (Akshardham Centre for Applied Research
in Social Harmony).
March 24-26 1995: CONCEPT OF
VAIDIKA. Hundred selected participants interacted with
22 nationally known scholars on the subject of the co-relation
of the six systems of Indian philosophy and Agamas with
Vedas.
December 29, 1995 to January
9, 1996: THE ROLE OF GURU. 22 International scholars presented
research papers before a highly educated audience of 408
people.
Lectures organized every quarter,
enlighten an audience of 600-700 people.
The proceedings of these conferences
have been published in book form.
