The primary occupation of the tribal communities
is farming. But cultivating the dry, harsh land around their
homes requires tremendous effort and has little rewards. For
years, these communities have depended on the seemingly endless
supply of water to feed their dry fields. Today, they are
feeling the consequences of years of misuse.
BAPS Charities manages
extensive water conservation
programs in tribal communities. These programs seek to
create a sound infrastructure of maintaining a community's
water supply, creating awareness in regards to water issues,
and implementing innovative methods in water conservation,
such as drip irrigation.
