COVID-19 Pandemic: BAPS Charities Supports Pomona Valley Hospital System with $5,000 and 1,500 Hot Meals for Frontline Workers

On April 15, 2020, BAPS Charities showed their support for the incredible work taking place at the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center by donating $5,000.00 in unrestricted funds to its foundation as well as providing 1,500 nutritious vegetarian hot meals, 2000 pre-packaged snacks and hundreds of bottled beverages for the brave healthcare professionals and staff working around the clock in these unprecedented times.

Writing on behalf of the Pomona Valley Medical Center Foundation, Digna Macias wrote an email thanking BAPS Charities “for the gift of $5,000.00. This gift will be directed to our COVID-19 Fund and [will] be used where most needed during this extraordinary period. We are grateful for your generosity.”

In addition to the financial support, the volunteers from BAPS Charities, in collaboration with BAPS Shayona, displayed their gratitude to the brave healthcare professionals, administration and volunteers by delivering hot meals and pre-packaged snacks to the hospital.   Following government guidelines, strict adherence to proper sanitary practices in preparing, packaging and delivering the food was maintained by all of the volunteers involved.

Leigh Cornell, Vice President, Administration said, “On behalf of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, we would like to express our most sincerest gratitude to BAPS Charities for your generosity in donating 1,500 hot meals to our Associates. These meals are a wonderful example of caring for our frontline workers with something to keep them nourished and healthy. We are overwhelmed with gratitude to BAPS Charities and know that we are stronger together!”

Volunteers in BAPS Charities locations throughout the world continue to evaluate situations to effectively provide support.
