BAPS Charities donates $25,000 to the Embassy of Nepal in USA

Continuing the response to the Nepal earthquakes, BAPS Charities has granted $25,000 to the Prime Minister’s Defense Fund at the Embassy of Nepal. The fund will be used exclusively for the treatment and rescue of victims, as well as rehabilitation for those affected. On June 21, His Excellency, the Ambassador of Nepal to the United States, Dr. Arjun K. Karki received the donation in Chino Hills, CA from BAPS Charities Director Govind Vaghasia and volunteer Bharatsinh Zala. Mr. Karki noted in the assembly: “We have lost over 9,000 of our brothers and sisters and more than 100,000 people are injured. Your support and solidarity is a sense of inspiration for us. We really appreciate your support and contribution in order to help our brothers and sisters back in Nepal. On behalf of my government and citizens of Nepal, along with survivors of the earthquake, I would like to thank all of you.”

Support of the embassy ensures that the government relief infrastructure receives the resources needed to maintain operations. BAPS Charities provides for relief efforts around the globe, and works with existing government frameworks to determine avenues for aid. The Embassy of Nepal has requested funds to address the most pressing issues facing victims in the various districts.

This gift represents BAPS Charities’ fourth contribution for Nepal disaster relief, totaling over $80,000. BAPS Charities is continuing efforts to identify additional organizations to support as Nepal works to rebuild.
