COVID-19 Pandemic: Donation of 2,300 pounds of food to Second Harvest Food Bank in Knoxville, TN

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic affects every aspect of life, BAPS Charities has joined the global call to action by providing services and support for diverse communities across the world in a spirit of selfless service. On May 26, 2020,  BAPS Charities volunteers in Knoxville, TN donated over 2,300 pounds of food to the Second Harvest Food Bank. The donation will help provide over 2000 meals to families and individuals in need.

In expressing her appreciation, Lorena Hubbard, Donor Relations Coordinator at Second Harvest, said, “I appreciate all your time and hard work in coordinating the food drive for Second Harvest. Way to go on hosting such a successful food drive! We appreciate BAPS Charities’ support and help to end hunger in East Tennessee.”

Beyond the recent donation, BAPS Charities has organized and implemented several online awareness campaigns for the community on how to stay healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers from locations throughout the world are continuously assessing the situation in order to best help local communities.
