Blood donation is crucial, with someone needing blood every two seconds worldwide. Patients undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, or trauma frequently require transfusions, and a single car accident victim might need up to 100 pints of blood. Blood banks often face chronic shortages, which are further strained during crises like natural disasters and pandemics. Regular blood donations not only save lives but also promote a strong sense of community and shared responsibility.
Answering this vital need, BAPS Charities organized a blood drive in Sterling Heights, MI, on May 4, 2025. A total of 41 pints of blood were collected—enough to potentially save up to 123 lives.
This initiative reflects BAPS Charities’ ongoing dedication to advancing the health and well-being of the greater community.
