BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2025 in Bartlett, IL

On June 7, 2025, BAPS Charities brought the community together in Bartlett, IL, for its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run.” This was one of two Walk-Run events held on back-to-back days in the greater Chicagoland area. The event inspired participants to take steps—both literally and figuratively—in support of DuPage Pads, a local nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness through sustainable solutions. It also promoted the values of service, compassion, and personal well-being.

With more than 1,400 participants, the event welcomed individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Among them was Chad Pedigo, Vice President of Development at DuPage Pads, who joined the walk in solidarity. Reflecting on the shared commitment to service and community, Mr. Pedigo remarked:

“The core of our work is human kindness. That kindness comes from all cultures and all faiths, because we are all neighbors and we are all living in this world together. This morning was such a beautiful representation of how, when a community comes together, they can support those who may not have the safety nets, family systems, or network of support necessary to be safely sheltered, to be a neighbor, and to thrive and grow in our community.”

This Walk-Run was part of a larger nationwide campaign by BAPS Charities, with over 100 similar events taking place across North America. Over the past two decades, BAPS Charities has organized more than 1,100 Walk-Runs, uplifting local causes and fostering a strong spirit of service, unity, and social responsibility.
