BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2025 in Sharon, MA

On May 31, 2025, BAPS Charities united the community in Sharon, MA, for its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run.” This uplifting event brought together over 300 participants of all ages to support the Sharon Police Department, raising awareness of the vital role first responders play while promoting service and community well-being.

The event was graced by several local leaders, including Massachusetts State Representative Ted Philips; Sharon Town Administrator Frederic Turkington; Sharon Select Board Chair Kiana Baskin and Vice Chair Hanna Switlekowski; Sharon School Committee Chair Avi Shemtov; and Fire Chief Michael Madden. Their presence highlighted the community’s strong support for the cause. Reflecting on the significance of the event, Sharon Police Chief Stephen Coffey remarked, “Your support means more than dollars—it reflects a deep commitment to community, service, and safety.”

This BAPS Charities Walk-Run is one of over 100 similar events held across North America as part of a broader initiative benefiting local organizations. For over 20 years, BAPS Charities has organized more than 1,100 walks, making a meaningful impact in communities by supporting important causes and promoting a spirit of service and unity.
