BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2025 in Regina, SK

On June 21, 2025, BAPS Charities brought the community together in Regina, Saskatchewan, for its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run.” This inspiring event encouraged participants to step forward in support of the life-saving work of two National Beneficiaries: the William Osler Health System Foundation and the CNIB Foundation, along with a local beneficiary, the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

This year’s walk united over 180 community members who came together to raise awareness and funds for health initiatives and other charitable activities organized by BAPS Charities. The event showcased a broad spectrum of participation, from youth to seniors, united for a common cause.

Special guests included Brad Crassweller, Member of Legislative Assembly for White City-Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan; Yashu Bither, Chairperson, Board of Regina Police Service; along with Lisa Green, Senior Vice President, Development, and Melanie Metcalf, Development Officer, Events from the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

The William Osler Health System is one of the largest community health care systems in the country, comprising three integrated hospitals: Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital, and the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

The CNIB Foundation, formerly known as the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, is a non-profit organization that delivers innovative programs and advocacy for people impacted by blindness.

The Hospitals of Regina Foundation raises funds to enhance areas of health care in Regina’s three hospitals – Regina General Hospital, Pasqua Hospital and the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.

The event provided an opportunity for participants to promote and engage in a healthier lifestyle, while also reminding them of the profound impact that collective efforts can have in addressing local needs and challenges.

Brad Crassweller, Member of Legislative Assembly for White City-Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan said, “On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan…I want to thank you for the opportunity to be here with you today…As we kick off the 2025 BAPS Charities Walk and Run, I want to thank you all for being here to support this initiative. This event is driven by the belief that ‘In the joy of others, lies our own’. What a wonderful way to explain the power of community and how focusing on other’s needs makes us better. By being here today you are not only embracing a healthier lifestyle you are also demonstrating the spirit of service which is so needed in our communities and in our world. This annual event unites people of all ages and helps us contribute to a happier, brighter world.”

Hospitals of Regina Foundation posted on social media, “Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in the BAPS Charities Canada Walk/Run held on June 21. It was our pleasure to join this annual walk for the first time. Support from community partners like BAPS Charities (Regina) helps us support the best possible health care, right here at home.”

The BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Regina is one of over 100 similar events held across North America as part of a broader initiative benefiting local organizations. For over 20 years, BAPS Charities has organized more than 1,100 walks, making a meaningful impact in communities by supporting important causes and promoting a spirit of service and unity.
