From July to August 2025, BAPS Charities in the Bay Area organized a School Supply Drive. The initiative aimed to support local students by ensuring they had the tools needed for a successful school year ahead. Over the course of two months, volunteers and community members collected more than 1,200 items, including pens, pencils, binders, highlighters, notebooks, backpacks, lunch boxes, and more.
The collected supplies were donated to two local school districts:
- Sunol Glen Unified School District, a small, close-knit TK–8 school district that serves the Sunol community. The donation was formally accepted by Principal and Superintendent Shay Galletti, who shared appreciation on behalf of teachers, staff, and families.
- Fremont Unified School District (FUSD), one of the largest districts in the Bay Area, serving over 32,000 students across 41 schools. At the donation presentation, Fremont Mayor Dr. Raj Salwan joined BAPS Charities volunteers to hand over the supplies, which were accepted by FUSD Superintendent Zack Larsen. Both leaders emphasized how these resources would directly benefit classrooms and students in need.
Both school districts expressed their gratitude for the generous contributions, highlighting the positive impact in helping students thrive during the academic year. With school supply drives like this one organized across North America, BAPS Charities remains committed to supporting education, empowering youth, and strengthening local communities — spreading the spirit of selfless service.
