As America prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary, BAPS Charities hosted the 2026 Spirit of Service Walk-Run, uniting more than 50,000 participants across over 100 cities in the United States and Canada in support of local nonprofit organizations. The nationwide initiative helped launch the America250 celebrations by putting community service and civic pride into action.
On May 31, 2026, BAPS Charities Walk-Run in North Bergen, NJ, brought together nearly 400 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. The event encouraged individuals and families to come together in support of North Bergen Police Department (PBA 18), helping provide safe and stable neighborhoods for the residents and visitors of the Township of North Bergen through various department programs and community policing efforts while promoting an active lifestyle and a spirit of compassion.

The event also welcomed Robert Baselice (Hudson County, Board of Commissioners, Commissioner, District 8), Hugo Cabrera (Parks and Public Property Commissioner), and Robert J. Farley, Jr. (Chief of Police), who participated alongside volunteers and supporters to show their solidarity for the cause. Reflecting on the impact of the event, of North Bergen Police Department shared, “”Our strength lies in our unity.
