As America prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary, BAPS Charities hosted the 2026 Spirit of Service Walk-Run, uniting more than 50,000 participants across over 100 cities in the United States and Canada in support of local nonprofit organizations. The nationwide initiative helped launch the America250 celebrations by putting community service and civic pride into action.
On May 31 2026, BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Dallas, TX brought together nearly 1300 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. The event encouraged individuals and families to come together in support of Children’s health to deliver world-class medical treatment across dozens of specialized fields at flagship campus in DFW, the main place to restore dignity and hope to homeless youth, teens and families facing sudden crisis in the Irving area and metrocrest services to fight local food insecurity by operating a high-volume, choice based food pantry and seasonal nutrition programs, while promoting an active lifestyle and a spirit of compassion.
Participants of all ages took part in the walk-run, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to service and giving back. The event also welcomed Texas State Representative Matt Shaheen ,who participated along side volunteers and supporters in showing solidarity for the cause. Representative spoke about the importance of serving others. “We have gotten united here for a purpose here, there is just joy that we experience together in serving others and that is what BAPS Charities is all about” he said, emphasizing the Walk-Run’s role in strengthening community values. The Walk-Run is more than just a community event, who participated alongside volunteers and supporters to show their solidarity for the cause. Reflecting on the impact of the event, representative from the main place shared, “We all love to help, we thank BAPS Charities for selecting us for this year beneficiary so we can help others who are in need “.
Through more than 1,200 walkathons organized over the past two decades, BAPS Charities has supported meaningful causes while fostering unity, compassion, and well-being in communities. As America250 approaches, the BAPS Charities Walk-Run demonstrates how volunteerism and civic engagement can bring communities together and inspire future generations.
