BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Westchester, NY

As America commemorates its 250th anniversary, BAPS Charities hosted the 2026 Spirit of Service Walk-Run, uniting more than 50,000 participants across over 100 cities in the United States and Canada in support of local nonprofit organizations. The nationwide initiative helped launch the America250 celebrations by putting community service and civic pride into action.

On May 31, 2026, the BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Westchester, NY, brought together nearly 150 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. The event encouraged individuals and families to come together in support of Feeding Westchester, helping raise awareness of its mission to nourish neighbors in the fight against hunger. Funds raised will support programs that provide fresh food to families in need.

Participants of all ages took part in the walk-run, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to service and giving back. Students, professionals, families, and community members joined together in support of the cause. Reflecting on the spirit of the event, participant Sushilaben Dave shared, “As an American, I was proud to celebrate the BAPS Charities Walk/Run event and America’s 250-year celebration; holding flags while we walked was a great way to show our national pride.” Beneficiary representative Pravin Patel emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “Feeding Westchester as an organization can be a valuable partner in helping vegetarian diet-dependent senior citizens.”

Through more than 1,200 walkathons organized over the past two decades, BAPS Charities has supported meaningful causes while fostering unity, compassion, and well-being in communities. Beyond the Walk-Run, BAPS Charities volunteers have provided disaster relief, organized health fairs, and planted more than 2 million trees worldwide, demonstrating an enduring commitment to service and civic engagement. As America250 approaches, the BAPS Charities Walk-Run demonstrates how volunteerism and civic engagement can bring communities together and inspire future generations.
