BAPS Charities UK successfully hosted the national Yagnapurush Cup, a 5-a-side football tournament for youths, on Saturday 7 June 2026 at Alperton Goals in London.
The event brought together more than 120 participants representing 16 teams from communities across the UK for a day filled with competitive football, camaraderie, and community spirit.
The group stages featured exciting, fast-paced matches, demonstrating impressive skill, teamwork, and plenty of goals as teams jostled for places in the knockout rounds.
Following the group stage, teams finishing third and fourth in their groups competed in the Pragji Cup. South London A secured the title after defeating London Mandir C in the final.
In the main Yagnapurush Cup competition, the leading teams from each group advanced to the knockout stages. Leicester B and London Mandir A emerged as the strongest contenders, overcoming East London A and Leicester A, respectively, to reach the final.
The highly anticipated final saw London Mandir A produce a dominant performance, defeating Leicester B 4–1 to lift the Yagnapurush Cup trophy.
Beyond the competition itself, the tournament highlighted the importance of physical activity, well-being, teamwork, and unity, bringing together young people from towns and cities throughout the country.
The day concluded with an awards ceremony recognising the achievements of both teams and individual players.
