Flu Vaccination Drive 2026 in Long Island, NY

Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that affect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. The illness can range from mild to severe and, in some cases, lead to serious complications or death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), influenza is estimated to cause between 9.4 million and 51 million illnesses, 120,000 to 710,000 hospitalizations, and 6,300 to 52,000 deaths annually in the United States.

Annual flu vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent influenza and reduce the risk of serious illness. To promote preventive healthcare and community well-being, BAPS Charities organized a Flu Vaccination Drive in Melville, NY, on October 3, 2026, benefiting more than 100 community members.
