BAPS Charities Food Drive in Brandon, MB

The rising costs of food, housing, fuel, and transportation are placing immense pressure on individuals and families across Canada. Children, single mothers, international students, and seniors are among the hardest hit, with many struggling to afford even the most basic necessity: food. Nearly 25% of Canadians live in food-insecure households, and this number continues to rise.

Recognizing the urgency of this issue, BAPS Charities organized a food drive in Brandon, Manitoba, and donated more than 530 pounds of non-perishable food items to Samaritan House Ministries Inc. on November 5, 2025.

Marcia Hamm Wiebe, Food Bank Coordinator, said, “Samaritan House Ministries is very thankful for the generous donation of food items from the BAPS Charities. These donations help to fill food hampers for people in need in our community. Our food bank program serves 1,500 hampers on average per month. Thank you, again for all your support!”

In addition to the Brandon initiative, BAPS Charities also organized a Canada-wide food drive, bringing communities together in the spirit of service and compassion.

BAPS Charities remains committed to serving society through a wide range of initiatives, including medical, environmental, community, educational, and humanitarian efforts.
