BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2025 in Calgary, AB

On July 5, 2025, BAPS Charities brought together the Calgary community in Alberta for its annual Spirit of Service: Walk-Run. This inspiring event mobilized participants to support the life-saving efforts of two national beneficiaries—the William Osler Health System Foundation and the CNIB Foundation—as well as a local partner, the Calgary Police Youth Foundation.

This year, over 385 community members participated in the walk, raising awareness and funds for vital health initiatives and other charitable efforts spearheaded by BAPS Charities. The event featured broad engagement, with participants ranging from youth to seniors, all walking in unity for a common cause.

Special guests included Councillor Sonya Sharp from the City of Calgary and Claire Enzie, Campaigns and Events Coordinator at the Calgary Police Youth Foundation.

The Calgary Police Youth Foundation is a charitable organization that works in collaboration with the Calgary Police Service and community partners to protect children and youth from crime and victimization.

The William Osler Health System is one of Canada’s largest community healthcare networks, comprising Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital, and the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

The CNIB Foundation, formerly the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, is a non-profit organization providing innovative programs and advocacy for individuals affected by blindness.

Beyond fundraising, the Walk-Run offered a platform to promote healthy living and highlighted the power of collective action in addressing community needs and challenges.

The Calgary Walk-Run is one of over 100 similar events held across North America as part of BAPS Charities’ broader commitment to serve local communities. Over the past 20 years, BAPS Charities has organized more than 1,100 walks—each reinforcing the organization’s enduring mission of service, unity, and social good.
