The rising costs of food, housing, fuel, and transportation are placing immense pressure on individuals and families across Canada. Children, single mothers, international students, and seniors are among the hardest hit, with many struggling to afford even the most basic necessity: food. Nearly 25% of Canadians live in food-insecure households, and this number is rising.
Recognizing the urgency of this issue, BAPS Charities organized a food drive in Cambridge, ON, and donated more than 2,600 pounds of non-perishable food items to Cambridge Food Bank on December 12, 2025.
Moyo Babalola, Communication Coordinator at Cambridge Food Bank said, “As the year ends, we’re grateful for your support in helping those facing hunger in our community. Because of you, families have shared holiday meals, children have enjoyed nourishing food, and many in need have received essential support. Your generosity has made a real difference in Cambridge and North Dumfries. From all of us at the Cambridge Food Bank, thank you for being part of this community and making this year brighter for so many.”
BAPS Charities also organized a Canada-wide Food Drive, leading up to and during the Diwali celebrations, bringing communities together in the spirit of service and compassion.
BAPS Charities is committed to serving society and communities in diverse fields such as medical, environmental, community, educational, and humanitarian services.
