BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2026 in Regina, SK

BAPS Charities hosted the 2026 Spirit of Service Walk-Run, uniting more than 50,000 participants across over 100 cities in Canada and the United States in support of local nonprofit organizations. The nationwide initiative highlighted the values of community service, volunteerism, and civic engagement in action.

On June 20, 2026, the BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Regina, Saskatchewan, brought together over 350 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. The event encouraged individuals and families to come together in support of two beneficiaries: the Hospitals of Regina Foundation and the William Osler Health System Foundation.

The Hospitals of Regina Foundation raises funds to enhance areas of health care in Regina’s three hospitals – Regina General Hospital, Pasqua Hospital and the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.

The William Osler Health System is one of the largest community health care systems in the country, comprising three integrated hospitals: Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital, and the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

Participants of all ages took part in the walk/run, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to service, health, and giving back. The event was honoured by the presence of the following elected officials and community leaders, who participated alongside volunteers and supporters to demonstrate their support for the charitable cause:

– Michael Kram, Member of Parliament for Regina-Wascana

– Councillor Sarah Turnbull, Regina City Councillor for Ward 5

– Lisa Green, Senior Vice President of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation

– Sabrina Trombley, Manager of Annual Giving of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation

MP Michael Kram said, “Thank you for inviting me to join you today at the BAPS Charities Annual Walk here in Regina. It’s always inspiring to see people come together in the spirit of service, community, and generosity. Looking around this gathering this morning, I see families, volunteers, community leaders, and citizens who have chosen to dedicate part of their day to help make a difference in the lives of others. One of the things that I admire most about BAPS Charities is the simple but powerful principle, and that’s, ‘In the joy of others lies our own.’ Those are certainly good words that I think we can all live by. That message reminds us that true fulfillment comes not only from what we achieve for ourselves, but from what we do for our neighbours and for our communities. It is a philosophy that has inspired countless acts of service across Canada and around the world. Through charitable initiatives, health awareness programs, volunteer service, and community outreach, BAPS Charities has demonstrated that compassion is not merely an idea. It is something that must be put into action. Today’s walk is another wonderful reminder of that commitment. Events like this strengthen our communities in many ways. They encourage healthy living, bringing people together across generations and backgrounds, and support causes that improve the lives of others. They remind us that while we each may walk on our own path, we accomplish far more when we walk together.”

Councillor Sarah Turnbull said, “On behalf of Mayor Chad Bachynski and my colleagues on city council, it’s a true pleasure to be here with all of you today for the BAPS Charities annual walk and run. Today’s event is more than just walking or running. It’s about working towards a shared purpose. It’s about recognizing when a community unites, we can make a real and lasting difference in people’s lives. And BAPS Charities has built an inspiring legacy of service, bringing people together to support health initiatives, education, environmental stewardship, and humanitarian relief. The scale of your impact is remarkable, but what is even more meaningful is the spirit behind it, a commitment to helping others driven entirely by volunteers… From improving patient care to investing in life-saving equipment, your work touches us. And supporting this cause means supporting the health of the entire community. So, thank you to the volunteers, the donors, and every participant here today. Your commitment makes Regina a more caring, compassionate, and connected city.”

Lisa Green said, “On behalf of all of us at Hospitals of Regina Foundation, we are truly honoured to be with you again this year… We’re very grateful for the support from BAPS Charities and from all of you who’ve come out to support this walk/run. A big thank you to the organizing committee. This kind of event doesn’t happen without a lot of people being involved. And certainly, a big thank you and a round of applause to the volunteers here. Hospitals of Regina Foundation sees, in our hospitals, there’s more than 20,000 children each year that are cared for. There’s 15,000 that show up in the emergency rooms for emergency appointments, and over 400 babies that need support in our NICU every year… One of the biggest priorities for our foundation this year is supporting the expansion of our NICU… They had set the highest priority need, and we will be directing the support from today’s walk/run to our NICU expansion. Those fragile babies need the best care that we can provide, and we couldn’t do that without support from events like this, organizing committees, and participants like all of you. So, thank you so much. We’re honoured to be here and to be the recipient of your support.”

Through more than 1,200 walkathons organized over the past two decades, BAPS Charities has supported meaningful causes while fostering unity, compassion, and well-being in communities. The BAPS Charities Walk-Run continues to demonstrate how volunteerism and civic engagement can bring communities together and inspire future generations.
