7th Annual Youth Seminar 2018 : Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Over 1,000 international students from various colleges and universities across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, attended the 7th Annual BAPS Charities Youth Seminar, ‘Understanding Canadian Immigration’ on March 31, 2018, in Toronto, Canada.

The seminar was held in the presence of Hon. Ahmed D. Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship and Mr. Dinesh Bhatia, Consul General of India, Toronto and other special guests. The seminar was organized to introduce the delegates to career planning, personal health, and financial planning, balancing wants with needs, guidance from the immigration minister and to provide them an opportunity to network with each other. The delegates enjoyed interesting presentations from the guest speakers on a wide variety of topics to help them be successful in both their careers and their life in Canada.

The students also participated in a Q&A session with the minister and professionals where they had an opportunity to ask questions about their specific areas of interest.

  • Yogesh Patel, Entrepreneur

After the event, Hon. Ahmed D. Hussen tweeted, “Canada is one of the worlds most competitive destinations for international students. This helps contribute $15 billion to our economy & supports 170K jobs. An amazing turnout at @BAPS 7th Annual International Student Youth Seminar.”

The event was followed by a networking dinner where the youth could meet with professionals and also network with each other to share ideas and information.  Mr. Dinesh Bhatia, Consul General of India in Toronto tweeted, “Spoke and interacted with over 800 Indian students at #BAPSYouthSeminar. While welcoming, I briefed them about various consular services and MADAD portal of @MEAIndia @CPVIndia, in the gracious presence of Canadian Immigration Min @AhmedDHussen.
