On Saturday, 11th July 2026, BAPS Charities hosted 100 students from Mathare Mixed Secondary School for a day of discovery, support, and fellowship.
During their visit, students toured the permanent exhibition, gaining insights into how society can work towards building a better future, before sharing a meal together.
BAPS Charities also supported the school by donating food supplies, following a request from the school for assistance with its lunch programme. Mathare Mixed Secondary School serves 1000 students, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged families in the Mathare area. Rising food costs have made it increasingly difficult for families to keep up with lunch programme fees, a strain that has affected students’ attendance and concentration in class.
The donation included rice, beans, wheat flour, wimbi porridge, and biscuits, expected to support the students with over 6,500 meals through the Million Meals Project.
BAPS Charities is proud to stand alongside Mathare Mixed Secondary School in ensuring no student has to learn on an empty stomach. Through acts of compassion and service, BAPS Charities continues to support initiatives that promote dignity, well-being, and positive change in communities across Kenya.
