COVID-19 Pandemic: Food and Face Masks Donated to Frontline Workers in Pennsylvania

As the United States continues to battle COVID-19, access to food and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have become major concerns, especially those working long hours on the front line. In gratitude and recognition of the heroic services provided by frontline workers, BAPS Charities volunteers served 216 hot vegetarian meals, 35 food care packages, and donated 80 face masks to: Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA;  Pennsylvania State Police, Blakeslee, PA; Scranton Police Department, PA; Pennsylvania Ambulance, Scranton, PA; Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA; Abington Jefferson Health, Abington PA; Abington – Landsdale Hospital Lansdale, PA; New Falls Township Police Department, PA; and Lower Makefield Township Police Department, PA.

BAPS Charities volunteer’s efforts across Pennsylvania were greatly appreciated. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) joined BAPS Charities volunteers for one delivery and remarked, “I am thrilled to see the outpouring of support in the community. I want to thank BAPS Charities for bringing fresh hot meals for frontline workers. Corporal Richard Bachman, Scranton Police Department said, “It means a lot to us to know that our community cares about us. Something like this shows that [BAPS Charities] is looking out for us.” Dr. Tirth Patel, Abington Jefferson Health, Abington PA, shared, “We are so grateful for the hot vegetarian food. Everyone enjoyed the food and it was gone within an hour.”
