BAPS Charities UK hosted the national Yagnapurush Cup, a 5-a-side community football tournament for youths, on Saturday 14 June 2025 at Powerleague Barnet, London.
A total of 18 teams and over 110 enthusiastic participants from local communities across the UK came together for a day of spirited competition, sportsmanship, and community bonding.
The group stage matches offered a thrilling display of talent and teamwork, with fast-paced games and an impressive number of goals scored. The excitement built steadily as teams vied for a place in the knockouts.
Following the group games, second- and third-placed teams progressed to the Pragji Cup, with North London A beating East London A in the final.
Meanwhile, the top teams in each of the four groups progressed in the coveted Yagnapurush Cup, with Leicester A and London Mandir A showing they were the top teams to progress to the final, at the expense of South London A and West London A.
The eagerly anticipated final saw a gripping contest settled by just one crucial goal. Leicester A emerged victorious, clinching the Yagnapurush Cup with a final score of 1-0.
More than just a tournament, the Yagnapurush Cup promoted health, well-being, and unity among youths from towns and cities across the country.
The event concluded with a presentation ceremony celebrating outstanding individual and team achievements.
