On Saturday 14 June 2025, BAPS Charities UK hosted the annual Keshav Cup, a national 5-a-side football tournament for over-35s, at Powerleague Barnet in London.
The event drew 12 teams and over 90 participants from local communities across the UK, all competing with energy, enthusiasm, and a shared sense of camaraderie.
The tournament began with a round of fast-paced group matches. The top two teams from each group progressed to the prestigious Keshav Cup, with the Samp Cup for the lower division – giving every team a chance to play for silverware.
The Samp Cup final saw a thrilling game between Barnet and Leicester East. With solid teamwork and some outstanding goalkeeping, Barnet claimed victory, lifting the Samp Cup on their home ground.
In the Keshav Cup final, South Stars FC faced the highly competitive Chigwell xG. Both sides showed great determination, but it was Chigwell xG who delivered a composed and clinical performance to win the match and once again take home the Keshav Cup.
The Keshav Cup continues to promote physical activity among adults leading busy lifestyles while strengthening friendships and community bonds across towns and generations.
