COVID-19 Pandemic: BAPS Charities Donates $10,000 to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, GA

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the lives of Americans all across the country. While residents in the metro Atlanta area adjust to their new and unexpected “normal”, healthcare professionals have gone above and beyond, sacrificing time with family and personal safety to care for patients.  To support their incredible efforts and show appreciation, BAPS Charities donated $10,000 to the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation in Lawrenceville, Georgia on April 29, 2020.

Jason Chandler, as president of the foundation, accepted the donation, and shared, “The Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation is dedicated to accelerating access to high-quality healthcare in our community and the BAPS Charities contribution to help respond to the COVID-19 crisis means that we can strengthen our hospital system’s ability to meet this challenge moving forward. We are so very grateful for the BAPS Charities community’s heart of service and the kindness they continue to share with our healthcare heroes on the front line.” The donated funds will be used towards the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment for the staff and other COVID-19 related expenses.

As healthcare professionals continue to support patients and volunteer organizations continue to support community members in their fight against COVID-19, BAPS Charities will continue to provide local organizations and healthcare providers support and resources to show their gratitude and highlight the importance of service and volunteerism in our local communities.
