Health Lecture 2019 in Boston, MA : Prediabetes

While diabetes is a widely-known health condition, not many people are as aware of prediabetes. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), prediabetes is a serious health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than usual, but not high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Approximately 84 million American adults—more than 1 out of 3—have prediabetes. Of those with prediabetes, 90% don’t know they have it. Prediabetes puts you at an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

To raise awareness about prediabetes, BAPS Charities organized a health awareness lecture in Boston, MA on November 30, 2019. The health awareness lecture was presented by Amit Ukani, who described the signs and symptoms of prediabetes and explained how those with prediabetes could work to prevent type 2 diabetes.
