Blood Donation Drive 2015 in Chicago, IL

BAPS Charities held its annual blood donation drive in Chicago, IL on June 7, 2015 coordinating efforts with American Red Cross.  Over 222 participants took part in the event donating over 184 pints of blood which can help save as many as 552 lives.

According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the US needs blood and more than 41,000 blood donations are needed everyday. Considering these statistics, medical facilities struggle to maintain the required blood supply on hand to treat everything from emergencies to long-term cancer treatment.  While there are many who regularly donate blood, reaching out to many other viable donors is necessary to fulfill this critical quota.  To help meet this need and continue its decade’s long support in this area, BAPS Charities organizes annual blood donation drives across the nation to collect blood and raise awareness in the community.
